Bio

Gabby Cameron is a breakout comedian and songwriter whose storytelling oscillates between earnest sincerity and absurd misdirection; and somehow, a banjo is involved.

After dropping out of a PhD in music to pursue comedy, she's headlined the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage multiple times. A professional bluegrass musician and musicologist, her musical training informs the precision and rhythmic structure of her sharp comedic timing.

In 2025, Gabby was an Artist in Resident at Strathmore, and Strathmore Music Center commissioned Cameron to write its first comedic commission in its history—resulting in her original, deeply unhinged song, “This Is How You Let Somebody Ruin Your Day.”

In 2022, Cameron was named Bluegrass Scholar of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association for her research on the historical Jewish presence in bluegrass music, a topic that also surfaces in her comedy. But don’t worry—she’s not here to teach a lecture. She’s here to make you laugh, and maybe cry, ideally at the same time.
